Setting Goals for the New Year and Achieving It!
What are your new year’s resolutions for 2007?
Whether you are an excellent student or struggling a little bit, earning your best grades should be one of your most important goals. This means envisioning certain targets and then committing yourself to the work necessary to achieve it. Try setting goals for the New Year to achieve higher grades.
1.) Goal one – Raise the bar.
If you earned “B”s and “C”s last year, work harder to earn “A”s and “B”s this year.
2.) Goal two – Create and stick to a firm study schedule.
From the beginning of the school year to the end, study time should be part of your daily schedule. Choose a quiet, relaxing atmosphere to keep focused on homework assignments or studying for exams.
3.) Goal three – Take action.
If you are struggling, get help from teachers or parents. You may want to get extra help on the side. This may include some remedial work to strengthen basic skills. At The Petersen Academic Group, we use different teaching strategies to convey concepts in a way that best suits each student’s needs on a one-on-one basis.
4.) Goal four – Maintain a can-do-attitude.
If you get a bad grade, try to see it as a temporary setback, not as a failure. Learn from the experience and try to master the areas you are having trouble with. Work harder the next quarter to get higher grades.
Sign your child up ahead of the testing date for the test prep course offered at The Petersen Academic Group. Tutorials are one-on-one, and structured to meet the individual needs of your child. You can do this by going to the tutorial registration page.
Patriotic Candles!
Support our local community shelter!
We want to thank Andrew Hinton, a student at The Petersen Academic Group, for buying a patriotic “mom’s apple pie scented” candle, which helps us in supporting our goal to provide funds to the local community shelter.
All contributions will go towards the purchase of children’s clothing from their wish list. If you would like to donate, or purchase one of the candles for $5.00 please contact The Petersen Academic Group at 703-391-1280 or email us.
