Encourage the Study Habit
Studying should become a habit. However, the study habit does not come naturally to many people. It takes work and time to develop. Because good study habits are keys to success in school, and life in general, they are worth the effort on the part of parents and students.
Study habits are a set of tools that can be used to:
- Help increase the information learned.
- Prolong the length of time information is remembered.
A few tips to consider:
- Make your home a good place for studying. Find a good “time” for studying.
- Eliminate common distractions and interruptions such as television, phone calls, radio, and cluttered work areas.
- Provide physical conditions that encourage concentration, such as good light, a table or desk, good posture. Keep supplies handy.
Remember, it is never too early and never too late to begin acquiring good study habits! The benefits of good study habits
can grow throughout the years.
